I realize that this window is a bit of a stretch in the colour compatibility department. I guess I’m just feeling wild and risky this week! Or, it’s that I just had to showcase these beauties before they find new homes and leave us behind. I’m totally head over heels in love with the Oscar on the right! The feather and tulle hem is so feminine and it reminds me of  that robin egg blue Chanel confection that we had back in 2014. The Prada in the centre isn’t too bad either…

We think our new champagne window is just as effervescent  and sweet as the French beverage. We’ve come upon this conclusion after studying the reactions of passersby on the sidewalk. It’s all math really…. Pedestrian speed x fashion stimuli / dopamine increase = goodness.

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Over the years we’ve come across some incredibly embroidered Chinese textiles and are always in awe of their fine embroidery. This week’s window features two jackets that are great examples of this. The one in the middle would have been worn by a bride on her special day. We know this because of the phoenix and dragon on it which symbolizes the wife and husband. We date it to around the 1950’s. Guessing by the hundreds of hours of hand stitching on it, this jacket would have belonged to a very affluent lady. Click pic to zoom in on this one of a kind gem!!

This post is brought to you by the 1960’s. It was a decade of big cars, smoking while pregnant and one income families. While those times are long gone some great things have survived, like these LBD’s. Forever classic, they truly transcend time. ‘Fashion fades, only style remains the same.’~Coco Chanel.

One should always keep people guessing, espescially when it comes to fashion. We love mixing up vintage with new for that unique look. It defines oneself amongst a sea of predictable. So this week,  we have all new contemporary luxury designer dresses paired with vintage accessories. The silk Alberta Ferretti on the left is about a size 4 and is shown with a vintage crystal belt and necklace. The wool tweed Dior in the centre (sold)is a size 4-6 and has been decorated with a vintage Chanel camellia brooch. The hand crochet silk Oscar on the right is a size 10-12 and is belted with a deco jet flapper strand (can be used as a necklace as well).
